Outdoor Edge Joins AKTI Team

December 10, 2018

The American Knife & Tool Institute is very pleased to welcome David Bloch, founder and president of Colorado-based Outdoor Edge, as a member of our Supporting Advisory Board.  All Advisory members join the team of company members who work to solve knife industry issues and encourage growth.  They participatie in two board meetings, held at the SHOT Show and the Blade Show each year, to provide additional industry input and assistance with programs.  Supporting Advisory Members provide even greater financial support to fund initiatives.

“We are thrilled that Outdoor Edge not only sees the value of AKTI’s efforts to advocate for the industry and all knife users, but stepped up to support us at a higher involvement and financial level,” said Jan Billeb, AKTI Executive Director.  “We look forward to David’s input and expertise to help AKTI continue to be the effective and responsible voice for the knife community.”

“Our great nation was founded on freedom for the people. Unfortunately, there are individuals that consider knives to be evil that want to restrict and take away our basic right to own, carry and use the first tool known to mankind. Outdoor Edge supports AKTI as the premier organization which stands up for our knife rights, through both education, awareness and legislative action,” said David Bloch.  “Knives have always been an important part of my life. My love of knives began as a young boy and was influenced by my grandfather, a knife collector and outdoorsman. Outdoor Edge began in 1988 as an engineering design project at the Colorado School of Mines.”

“I look forward to working with David on AKTI educational and legislative efforts,” said CJ Buck, CEO of Buck Knives and AKTI President.  “He will be a valuable asset to our organization.”
