Ontario Knife Introduces Robeson Heirloom Hunter Series

January 27, 2016

Ontario Knife Company http://ontarioknife.comIt is a right of passage in the outdoor community for the patriarch of the family to hand down a knife to the next generation. Not only does this allow young hunters to take a necessary tool afield, but it allows the memories of hunts past to live on within the artifact. Ontario Knife Company® (OKC) has embraced this tradition with the release of its new Robeson Heirloom® Series, which blends robust materials with a functional, timeless design.

The new for 2016 line features two models: the Robeson Heirloom® Drop Point and the Robeson Heirloom® Trailing Point.  Both knives have an overall length of 9 inches, with blades measuring 4 1/8 inches. The knives are both full tang and made of very tough D2 tool steel to give the knives a lifespan to last generations. The blades are satin finished and flat ground with one featuring a fine drop-point and the other an upswept trailing point: the Drop Point will likely be a favorite of big-game hunters as this design is excellent for skinning and cutting through tough skin and bone. The Trailing Point design is perfectly suited for smaller game and fish.

The handles of the Robeson Heirloom series are ergonomic and crafted to give these knives a classic impression. The wood is stabilized burl maple that effortlessly holds a high polish while boasting a rich brown colored base and a mocha colored grain. The stabilization process for the wood is intended to prevent the handles from shrinking, cracking, or absorbing water. Both models feature DeSantis® premium leather, Scandinavian-style pouch sheaths to complete the traditional look.

Sure, you can pass down a knife of any caliber to the next-generation hunter in your family; but, to ensure this knife will be cherished for decades, the blade needs to be special. The knife needs to be heirloom quality. The Robeson Heirloom series from OKC are built to be this knife.
