Knife Community Loses Blackie Collins

July 20, 2011

Dallas, TX (July 20, 2010). The entire knife industry and community was saddened today to learn of the unexpected death of prolific knife designer Blackie Collins. Ironically his life was cut short in a motorcycle accident, the motorcyle strut of a Ducati having been the inspiration for his famous Strut’N’Cut.

Since second grade Blackie declared he wanted to be a gun and knife maker and he started early teaching himself design and mechanics. While he designed other innovations, knives were his strength and through the years he designed for more than 20 manufacturers.

Sympathies are extended to his wife and family. The entire knife community mourns the passing of icon Blackie Collins.
