Knife Brands Sponsor Free to Carry Fundraiser Event

May 9, 2017

CRKT, W.R. Case, Boker USA and Buck Knives Support the American Knife & Tool Institute’s Annual Blade Show Fundraiser

The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) is pleased to announce that its second Blade Show fundraiser, “Free to Carry,” is supported with sponsorships from four leading knife brands – CRKT, W.R. Case, Boker USA and Buck Knives.

The “Free to Carry” Fundraiser will be held on Friday evening, June 2rd from 7 pm to 9:30 pm in Atlanta, Georgia. Knives from widely acclaimed custom knife makers will be live auctioned to raise funds to support the American Knife & Tool Institute’s legislative efforts.  There will also be several specialty knives donated by company members offered as silent auction items.

“We’re excited that CRKT and W.R. Case are Platinum Sponsors, Boker USA is a Diamond Sponsor and Buck Knives a Gold Sponsor of the “Free to Carry” fundraiser,” said Jan Billeb, AKTI Executive Director. “These companies are making possible an enjoyable evening with delicious food, drinks and prizes for attendees.”

At the event knives from well-known custom makers including Tony Bose, Russ Kommer, Steve Jernigan, Tom Veff, Lucas Burnley, Brian Tighe, Ken Onion, D’Holder, Ed VanHoy, Ken Steigerwalt, Alan Folts, Jesper Voxnaes, Robert Carter and Brad Zinker will be on live auction, giving people who otherwise would not have the opportunity a chance to own a knife by one of these great makers.

“Sponsoring the ‘Free to Carry’ fundraiser is just one more way that the industry and companies like Boker, Buck, CRKT and W.R. Case ensure that the American Knife & Tool Institute can continue to diligently work for everyone in the knife community by promoting knives as essential, valuable tools,” said Rod Bremer, event chair. “We thank them sincerely for supporting the knife advocacy organization that works to solve industry problems and give individuals the confidence to carry and use their knives.”

Details about the custom makers, the donated knives and how to get tickets to attend the Friday evening event, June 2nd from 7 pm – 9:30 pm, are available at www.FreeToCarry.org.
