AKTI Welcomes Krate Tactical as a New Member

January 26, 2026

Veteran-owned company joins at the Premier Membership level

The American Knife and Tool Institute (AKTI) is excited to announce that Krate Tactical of Winder, Georgia, has joined as a new member of the nonprofit organization. Krate supports AKTI at the Premier Membership level.Krate Tactical Logo

Krate Tactical is a veteran-owned company founded in 2017 by former Marine John Fleitz alongside his business partner Mark Pierce, with a mission to serve the Second Amendment community with dependable, purpose-built tools for real-world use. Backed by a lifetime warranty, Krate Tactical products are designed to perform when it matters most.

“We’ve been fans of the work AKTI has done in advancing sensible laws around automatic knives,” said Emory Griffin of Krate. “We are eager to collaborate on future sensible knife law reforms and are confident that AKTI’s cooperative approach is the key.”

Jan Billeb, Executive Director of AKTI, said the organization welcomes the additional support as it accelerates efforts to advance knife law reform at both the state and national levels and to advocate on other issues of concern to the entire industry.

“AKTI and its industry members have been leading the push for smart, common-sense knife law reform for more than 25 years,” Billeb said. “The decision by an established company like Krate to join AKTI reflects the momentum within the knife industry and reinforces confidence in AKTI’s leadership as we drive meaningful reform forward.”
