The Board of Regents met Monday, Jan. 19 to discuss projects planned for the coming year by AKTI committees including Membership, Education, Marketing, Legislative and Anti-Counterfeiting.

“We will have some exciting announcement in the coming months, especially in the legislative and education areas, with projects that showcase the multi-faceted efforts of our organization to enhance the entire knife community, said AKTI Executive Director Jan Billeb.

On Tuesday, AKTI held its annual Membership Knife Giveaway drawing at the Benchmade Knife Company booth. Open to all individual members who renewed or joined AKTI during 2014, the drawing was to receive a newly released Benchmade 940-1 model.

David Fee, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Benchmade, drew the winning name.  Ken, from Parker, CO, was excited to be notified.  “You made my week, which has been less than fun so far and it’s only Tuesday,” was his response.

“We thank Benchmade Knives for their generous support of AKTI with this contribution,” said Billeb. “Benchmade also did some creative fundraising for AKTI at the Blade Show in 2014 and we appreciate their membership, contributions and the efforts of many of their staff assisting with AKTI efforts.”

Individuals who Join AKTI or Renew  in 2015 could win a Taylor Brand SCHF41 donated by Board member Taylor Brands. Join or Renew Today!
