July 30, 2013

Jennifer Gardner Marketing SpecialistCODY, Wy. (July 30, 2013) – The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Gardner as Marketing Communications Specialist. In this role, Jennifer will focus on promoting AKTI’s legislative successes, educational programs and informing the public, legislators and law enforcement about knives as essential, valuable tools.

“We are pleased to have Jennifer join the AKTI team,” Executive Director Jan Billeb said. “She has demonstrated her expertise through previous work for AKTI while creating our website, writing press releases and with social media advice. She will be a tremendous asset to the mission and growth of the organization. ”

Previously, Jennifer worked in the golf industry as a writer and editor for Golfweek, the Golf Press Association and golf.com. She owns a marketing communications firm, Visual People, based in Corvallis, Ore. She holds a master’s degree in journalism and public policy from American University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

“I’ve enjoyed working with AKTI on the projects I’ve been able to assist with while learning more about the knife industry,” Gardner said. “Now I’m eager to develop relationships with those in the industry and help AKTI to promote the use of knives in our everyday lives.”
