Strengthening its position as a valuable resource for knife manufacturers, the American Knife and Tool Institute (AKTI) is thrilled to announce that Jason Cooper has joined as an expert consultant on counterfeiting and IP protection.
“Counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringement remain persistent threats to the knife and tool industry,” said Jan Billeb, Executive Director of AKTI. “Protecting original designs, trademarks, and brand reputations is essential to our members and to the marketplace as a whole. Jason will help our industry address these ongoing challenges and provide valuable insights.”
Jason is a partner at The Sladkus Law Group in Atlanta. A dedicated brand protection attorney, he has spent his career helping clients secure, protect, and enforce valuable trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property. His practice focuses on disputes, from pre-litigation demand letters to federal litigation nationwide. He has represented clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s administrative court for trademark disputes and advised on administrative matters to recover website domain names.
Throughout his career, Jason has represented brands across a wide array of industries, including firearms, technology, fashion, and home goods. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, he has valuable experience from top IP firms in Miami and Nashville. He is also an active member of both the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
