American Knife & Tool Institute’s Switchblade Repeal Passes Michigan House
The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) today applauded the House of Representatives’ passage of Michigan Senate Bill 245, a bill to ensure better laws and protections for law abiding citizens carrying an automatic knife.
Texas HB 1935 Signed Into Law
Effective September 1, 2017 there will be no restrictions on the carry of knives in Texas except for knives with blades over 5-1/2 inches. The criminal intent to use an item will be the determining factor, not the possession or carry of a particular type of knife.
Don’t Believe the Myths About Automatic Knives
AKTI is removing automatic restrictions state by state and working to enact federal law to protect the rights of knife owners who travel between different states and jurisdictions. Our goal is also to repeal the FSA which is a ban on the commerce of valuable tools between states. We diligently and responsibly work to eliminate restrictions that hamper the ability of the knife community to do business or knife owners to chose the best tool for the task at hand.
